Biography

Red Molly, a folk trio from the United States of America, was formed in 2004 at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival by Laurie MacAllister, Abbie Gardner, and Carolann Solebello. The trio gained initial traction with their self-titled EP Red Molly released in 2005. Their career took off in 2006 when they won the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. In June 2008, their album Love and Other Tragedies reached number 15 on the Americana Charts. In 2010, Carolann Solebello left the group and was replaced by Molly Venter. The band released Light in the Sky in 2011 and announced an extended hiatus in March 2015. Red Molly re-formed in 2017 for a series of performances across various cities.
