Biography

Raymond van het Groenewoud is a Belgian musician. He began his career as a guitarist with Johan Verminnen and formed the group Louisette in 1972 with Erik Van Neygen. His breakthrough came in 1977 with the single “Meisjes” from the album Nooit Meer Drinken, which became his first major hit. He later achieved wider success with songs such as “Je Veux De L’Amour” and “Vlaanderen Boven.” In 1990, he released the compilation single “Liefde Voor Muziek,” which reached Number 1 in both Belgium and the Netherlands. He also later became known for political songs such as “Weg Met Amerika.”
