Rafael Anton Irisarri, born 12 March 1982 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a composer, producer, and electronic instrument player whose work blends postâminimalist and drone textures. After early experimentation with analog gear, he released the Daydreaming EP in 2007, followed by the The North Bend LP in 2010 on ROOM40, which established his reputation in ambient circles. Subsequent albums-Reverie (2010), A Fragile Geography (2015), Peripeteia (2020), and Façadisms (2024)-were issued through Ghostly International and ROOM40, while collaborative projects such as Orcas (2012) with Benoît Pioulard and Sirimiri (2018) with Leandro Fresco expanded his sonic palette. Rafael Anton Irisarri toured extensively, performing at Sónar, MUTEK, and Unsound, and frequently incorporated realâtime looping in live sets, earning recognition from peers like Pantha Du Prince.
