Biography

Bing & Ruth are an American minimalist/ambient music ensemble from Brooklyn, led by pianist David Moore. The group were formed in 2006 by David Moore, a student at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Bing & Ruth's debut album, City Lake, was self-released in 2010 and featured an 11-member ensemble. In 2014, the group signed with experimental label RVNG Intl. and released Tomorrow Was the Golden Age. This album saw the ensemble reduced to seven members and received critical acclaim. Bing & Ruth later signed with 4AD and issued No Home of the Mind in February 2017, recorded at a repurposed church in Hudson, NY. Their subsequent album, Species, was released in July 2020.
