Rachael Wendy Bartholomew, known professionally as Rachael Leahcar, was born on February 22, 1994, in Adelaide, South Australia. She is a singer and songwriter who began her musical journey at an early age, singing and playing instruments from childhood. Leahcar's breakthrough moment came when she participated in the first season of The Voice Australia in 2012, where she finished third. Shortly after her appearance on the show, she signed a record deal with Universal Music Australia. Her debut album, Shooting Star, was released on July 13, 2012, and featured studio versions of covers she performed on The Voice, original songs, and newly recorded covers such as "The Rose" by Bette Midler and "Words" by the Bee Gees. The album debuted at Number five on the ARIA Albums Chart. Leahcar also released her debut single, "Coming Home Again", written by Jud Friedman, which would have been her winner's single if she had won The Voice. Following the release of Shooting Star, Leahcar joined Delta Goodremâs An Evening With Delta: The Top of My World Shows tour as an opening act in October and November 2012.
