Pillow Queens, an Irish indie rock band from Dublin, formed in 2016. Founded by Sarah Corcoran and Pamela Connolly, the group aimed to unite four queer women, later joined by Cathy McGuinness and Rachel Lyons. Their debut demo EP Calm Girls (2016) launched their journey, followed by festival appearances and performances alongside artists like Pussy Riot and Idles.
The band released State of the State in 2018, paving the way for their critically acclaimed debut album, In Waiting (2020), celebrated for its emotional depth and exploration of identity. That year, their song Gay Girls featured in the film Dating Amber, and they participated in the Irish Women in Harmony collective.
In 2022, their second album, Leave the Light On, showcased a matured sound with singles Be by Your Side and Hearts & Minds. Their third album, Name Your Sorrow, released in April 2024, continues their exploration of queerness and religion.
