Pierre Christophe, born on June 29, 1969, in Bourges, France, is a pianist known for his contributions to jazz. He studied piano at the conservatoire de Marseille under Guy Longnon, earning a gold medal in 1991, and later obtained a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Christophe's career includes several albums dedicated to Jaki Byardâs work, such as Benjamin Herman Plays Jaki Byard (2002) and Byardâ¦& More (2007). He has collaborated with notable musicians like James Spaulding and Frank Morgan. In 2007, he received the Django Reinhardt award for French Jazz Musician of the Year, following his win at the Jazz à Juan Révélations competition in 2005. His discography also included Frozen Tears (2010), Valparaiso (2015), and Live! Tribute to Erroll Garner (2017).
