Biography

Philippe Mouratoglou, born on 19 April 1973 in Paris, France, is a classical guitarist known for his versatility. He studied under Wim Hoogewerf, Roland Dyens, and Pablo Marquez and later became an assistant professor at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. Mouratoglou has collaborated with ensembles such as Linea and Alma Viva, as well as orchestras including the Orchestre Mozart de Toulouse. In 2012, he founded the label Vision Fugitive, initiating projects like Steady Rollin’ Man, a reinterpretation of Robert Johnson's repertoire. His discography includes the albums D’Autres Vallées (2016) and Univers Solitude (2018), and he has notably collaborated in a duo with soprano Ariane Wohlhüter. Mouratoglou has performed internationally at venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris and Carnegie Hall.
