Biography

Petter Eldh, born Frans Petter Eldh in 1983, in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a jazz bassist. He initially played guitar before switching to double bass at age 11 and later to jazz under Charlie Parker's influence. Eldh received his first musical training between 1999 and 2002 at Uddevalla Musikhochschule, continued his studies at Skurup Jazz School from 2002 to 2004, and earned a master’s degree in Copenhagen in 2009. His career began with collaborations including Conformation (2011) by Django Bates. He has released several albums including Koma Saxo (2019), and Project Drums, Vol. 1 (2021). Eldh has won several awards including the Getxo International Jazz Prize in Spain with People Are Machines in 2006, and the Danish prize Ung Jazz with Exil in 2007.
