Biography
Essex punks Pet Needs formed in 2016 and went from local newbies to chart-friendly heroes within a relatively short space of time. Formed in Colchester by brothers Johnny Marriott (vocals) and George Marriott (guitar), the band fleshed out their sound with the help of drummer Jack Lock and Rich Gutierrez on bass, who was later replaced by Ryan Sharman. The group catapulted themselves onto the scene with their riotous debut EP As Kites Fly By Pylons followed by their Fractured Party Music full-length in 2021. The "Get on the Roof" single came next and their sophomore album Primetime Entertainment emerged in 2022. However, it was with the release of their third album that Pet Needs hit the ground running, crashing into the UK Top 10 with the acclaimed Intermittent Fast Living, which reached number seven in February 2024 and spawned a hit in "The Burning Building." In 2025, they stripped it back for the acoustic album Kind of Acoustic.
