Permanent Fatal Error, a project by Olivier Manchion, Ulan Bator founder member, and long-time Faust collaborator, initially gained attention with their debut album Law Speed, released in 2004. The project, which Manchion defined as "deaf-blues," began as a solo endeavour but evolved into duo performances with Giulio Vetrone. In addition to his work with Permanent Fatal Error, Manchion was also a founding member of Ulan Bator and collaborated extensively with Faust. The group's music spans various genres, including folk, post-rock, alternative, experimental, free-rock, indie, and post-punk.
