Composed of DJs and producers Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, Peking Duk were an Australian electronic music duo formed in Canberra in 2010. They rose to prominence in 2012 after releasing a bootleg remix of Passion Pitâs âTake a Walk.â In 2014, they broke into the Australian Top 10 with the singles âHigh,â featuring Nicole Millar, and âTake Me Over,â with SAFIA. Both tracks obtained platinum certification and were included on their 2015 debut EP Songs to Sweat To. That same year, they made their Coachella debut and scored another platinum single with âSay My Name.â In the following years, they further raised their profile with the Elliphant collaboration âStrangerâ (2016), which reached Number 5 in Australia, and teamed up with AlunaGeorge on the Top 40 single âFake Magicâ (2017). Their second EP, Reprisal, arrived in 2018 and was soon certified triple-platinum, paving the way for collaborations with Jack River (âSugar,â 2019) and The Wombats (âNothing to Love About Love,â 2020). In 2021, Peking Duk returned with the Sarah Aarons-assisted âChemicals,â a high-energy electro-pop track that was subsequently reworked by several producers. They collaborated with Slayyyter on âHonestâ and British indie band Circa Waves on âSpend Itâ in 2022, before revisiting Savage Gardenâs âI Want Youâ with original singer Darren Hayes in 2023. That year, they also joined Julia Stone for a version of Crowded Houseâs âFall at Your Feetâ for triple jâs Like a Version, which reached Number 64 in the 2023 Hottest 100. The FEYI collaboration âStop the Musicâ followed in 2024, while 2025 brought âAround U,â a Coke Studio collaboration with Drax Project and Kita Alexander combining electronic, pop and pop-jazz elements. In March 2026, Peking Duk announced their long-awaited first studio album, Paradise, beginning its rollout with âThrills,â featuring Rico Nasty. Further collaborations followed with Phantogram on âForever,â Kah-Lo on âDo Your Bestâ and Matt Corby on âLet Go,â the latter embracing a slower, retro-leaning electronic sound. Released on August 14, 2026, Paradise contained 14 tracks and expanded the duoâs dance-oriented style through influences including UK garage, hip-hop and classic electronic music. Peking Duk described the record as the beginning of a new creative chapter after years of concentrating primarily on individual singles.
