Biography

Paulo Ricardo is a Brazilian rock musician and songwriter born as Paulo Ricardo Oliveira Nery de Medeiros on September 23, 1962 in Rio de Janeiro. Ricardo achieved professional recognition for being a member of the ensemble RPM. He achieved professional recognition for a career that began after he joined the ensemble Prisma in the late 1970s and co-founded RPM in 1983. Their recording career included the studio recording Revoluções por Minuto (1985) which sold over 600,000 copies and the live recording Rádio Pirata ao Vivo (1986) which sold over 3.7 million copies. Ricardo achieved professional recognition for the eponymous debut solo studio recording Paulo Ricardo (1989) which featured the song “A Step of Eternity” (1989). His discography included the studio recording Psico Trópico (1991), the studio recording Rock Popular Brasileiro (1996), and the studio recording O Amor Me Escolheu (1997). Ricardo achieved professional recognition for the single “Vida Real” (2001) and the studio recording MTV RPM 2002 (2002) which sold over 300,000 copies. His recording career included the studio recording Acoustic Live (2005), the studio recording Prisma (2006), and the studio recording Novo Álbum (2016).
