Hanoi-Hanoi, a Brazilian rock group from Brazil, was formed in 1985 by Arnaldo Brandão, Affonso Heliodoro dos Santos Jr., Pena, and Tavinho Paes. Their debut album, Hanoi-Hanoi, released in 1986, featured the hit single "Totalmente Demais" which was later covered by Caetano Veloso. The group's second album, Fanzine (1988), included "O Tempo Não Pára", a collaboration between Brandão and Cazuza that became widely popular through Cazuzaâs rendition. In 1990, they released O Ser e o Nada, inspired by the existentialist philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre. Hanoi-Hanoi gained significant recognition during Rock in Rio II in 1991 when they replaced Barão Vermelho. Their subsequent albums included Coração Geiger (1992) and Credus (1995). The band disbanded in 1995. After disbanding, Brandão and Paes continued their collaboration, producing over 50 songs together.
