Biography
Born in Israel on April 25, 1972, Oz Noy is a virtuoso guitar player who started his professional career at the age of 13. While he adds pop, funk blues, and rock into his repertoire, he classifies his music as jazz. Playing with well-known Israeli musicians, he became one of the most in-demand session guitarists in Israel. Oz Noy relocated to New York in 1996 and integrated himself into the local jazz scene. He began playing with the cream of the New York scene including Anton Fig, Will Lee, Reggie Washington, and others. His 2003 debut album, Oz Live, was recorded at the Bitter End in New York City in 2002. Oz Noyâs first studio album, Ha!, was released in 2005 and featured musical assistance from friends Fig, Lee, Mike Stern, Keith Carlock, James Genus, and others. Further Oz Noy releases include Fuzzy (2007), Twisted Blues, Volume 1 (2011), Ozone Squeeze (2017), Booga Looga Loo (2019), and Snapdragon (2020). Over the course of his career, Oz Noy has also performed or recorded with Chris Botti, Gavin DeGraw, Harry Belafonte, Cyndi Lauper, Clay Aiken, Toni Braxton, Phoebe Snow, Nile Rogers, Dave Weckl, Roger Glover, the Gil Evan Orchestra, The Allman Brothers, Fred Wesley, Tom Scott, Don Henley, Patti Austin, Michael Buble, Sting, Steve Perry, Allison Krauss, Foreigner, Christopher Cross, Justin Timberlake, Bonnie Raitt, Lizzo, and many others.
