Biography
Lotus is an American instrumental electronic jam band formed in Indiana in 1998. Their original members included Steve Clemens, Luke Miller, Michael Rempel, Andy Parada, and Joel Jimenez. The group recruited percussionist Chuck Morris in 2001 and transitioned to instrumental music. Their debut album, Vibes (2002), is a compilation of live performances. Lotus released the albums Nomad (2004), which reached Number 1 on the Home Grown Music Network charts, and The Strength of Weak Ties (2006). In 2007, they released the live double album Escaping Sargasso Sea. Their discography includes Hammerstrike (2008), Lotus (2011), and Free Swim (2020). Morris and their son died in 2023.
