Owen Paul McGee, known professionally as Owen Paul, was born on May 1, 1962, in Glasgow, Scotland. As a youngster, he decided to pursue a career in music after hearing the Sex Pistols and played with Glasgow band Venigmas in the early 1980s. His breakthrough came in 1986 with the release of his hit single "My Favourite Waste of Time", which reached Number 3 on the UK charts. He released "The One" in January 2014, his first official single in the UK since 1987, followed by the album About Time II. In 2023, he released "Overblown Superstar", an Americana/country single that saw a return to his Celtic/folk roots.
