Biography

Oskar Linnros (born on August 15, 1983) is a Swedish musician and rapper, mostly known for being a member of award-winning alternative hip-hop duo Snook. Following Snook’s breakup in 2007, Linnros kept himself busy as a producer, collaborating with Stockholm rapper Petter, funk rock band Fibes, Oh Fibes!, and pop singer Veronica Maggio, with whom he released the Swedish Grammy-nominated Och vinnaren är… in 2008. During those years, he also co-founded the baile funk-inspired hip-hop act Maskinen, which he left in 2010 to pursue a solo career. Prefaced by the hit singles “Från och med du” and “Ack, Sundbyberg,” the soul pop opus Vilja Bli (2010) peaked at Number 2 on the Swedish Charts and earned him two Rockbjörn awards for Song of the Year and Breakthrough of the Year. Entirely written, recorded, and produced by Linnros, the album drew inspiration from soul artists like Al Green and Hall & Oates. Though not as critically acclaimed, Klappar och slag (2013), his sophomore effort, still managed to reach Number 3 on Sweden’s Sverigetopplistan for 56 consecutive weeks. Following a one-time reunion with Snook at the Way Out West festival in 2016, Linnros released Väntar på en Ängel (2017), which received two nominations for the P3 Gold Awards in the categories Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year.
