Orquesta Clavito y Su Chela is a Peruvian cumbia group formed in 2014 by singer-songwriter Robert Muñoz Farfán, known as Clavito, who switched careers after working as a police officer and positioned the project inside Peruâs radio-friendly tropical circuit. The groupâs early breakthrough centered on songs that quickly became staples of its live set, including âPor qué serás asÃ,â âNo me vayas a olvidar,â and âSiento que no puedo vivir sin ti,â the latter released in a collaboration with Susan del Perú and CarmÃn Rojas. In 2016, Clavito and the orchestra consolidated that momentum with a rapid album run that included Por qué serás asÃ, Autores son amores, and Después de la tormenta, expanding their repertoire with additional writers and composers from the broader Peruvian romantic-cumbia scene while keeping Clavito as the recognizable frontman. After that initial burst, the group maintained its presence through singles and new versions of key titles, including releases such as âYa sé,â âEs por tu culpa,â and âNo seas asÃâ in the 2020s. Their signature song also kept resurfacing in performance-driven recordings, with âPor qué Serás Asà (En Vivo)â and related live takesâsuch as âPor Qué Serás Asà (25 Años en Iquitos)â credited alongside Hermanos Yaipénâhelping the track circulate beyond studio-era listeners and reaffirming the bandâs identity as a live-oriented cumbia act.
