Orion's Beethoven, a progressive and hard rock group from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was formed in 1968. The band, which featured members including Román Bar, Adrián Bar, and José Luis González, became the first Argentine act to fuse rock with classical music. The group gained significant attention at the Festival Pinap in 1969, where they were named "Grupo Revelación". Their performance at the B.A. Rock III festival was captured in the 1973 film Rock hasta que se ponga el sol, the same year they released their debut album, Superángel. In 1975, Jorge Liechtenstein joined on drums. By 1977, González returned to the group along with vocalist Petty Guelache for the album Tercer milenio. The band shortened its name to Orions in the early 1980s and achieved major success with the single âHasta que salga el solâ from the 1982 album Volando alto. Following the death of González, Cacho D'Arias joined for the 1983 release Asfalto caliente. The group disbanded following a farewell concert at the Estadio Obras de Buenos Aires on December 30, 1983. After a brief reunion in 2003, the group resumed activity in 2014 with a new lineup led by Adrián Bar.
