Ordo Equitum Solis is an alternative music band consisting of French Leithana (Nathalie Herrera) and Italian Deraclamo (Paolo De Marco), formed in 1988. The duo met in a post-punk club in Paris in 1985 and moved to Paganotti, Italy, where they began preparing their first album Solstitii Temporis Sensus in 1987. The debut album was released in 1990 under the independent label Musica Maxima Magnetica. The band's early albums featured industrial and esoteric darkwave influences, with a touch of medieval elements. They gained popularity among gothic and neofolk listeners, releasing notable albums such as Animi Aegritudo (1991), the mini-CD OES (1993), Paraskénia (1994) and Hecate (1995). In 1998, Ordo Equitum Solis regained rights to their works and started releasing albums under their own label Sinope, including Planetes (1999) and Metamorphosis - Personam Impono (2000). The band disbanded after a concert at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2001, but reunited in 2010 and subsequently released the album Killing Time Killing Love (2013).
