Biography

Ruby Throat, a British neofolk duo, was formed in 2007 by English vocalist KatieJane Garside and American guitarist Chris Whittingham during the dissolution of Garside's former band, Queenadreena. Their debut album, The Ventriloquist, received critical acclaim for its ethereal folk sound. In 2009, they released their second studio album, Out of a Black Cloud Came a Bird, which included a cover of "Nothing" by Townes Van Zandt and was followed by their first US tour. In 2012, Ruby Throat released O' Doubt O' Stars, an album recorded while sailing on London waterways. Notable tracks include "Stone Dress", which received critical acclaim. Their fourth studio album, Baby Darling Toporo, was released in 2017. In 2018, they compiled some of their favorite tracks from the last four albums into Stone Dress. The duo later released the album Geiger Counter under the new moniker Liar, Flower in 2020.
