Biography
Omid Walizadeh, known professionally as Omid, is an American hip-hop producer based in California. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor's degree in recording arts and began producing tracks in 1992. Inspired by the underground hip hop movement at the Good Life Cafe in the early 1990s, Omid released his first collaborative album, Beneath The Surface, in 1998. His solo debut album, Distant Drummer, was released on Beneath the Surface in 2002. Subsequent albums include Monolith (2003) and Afterwords 3 (2007). Omid has produced tracks for notable artists such as Freestyle Fellowship, Busdriver, and Awol One. He also served as the music supervisor for the documentary film This Is The Life, which chronicles the Good Life Cafe.
