Oliver Kruck, also known as Oliver Frank, was a German Schlager singer who was born on September 1, 1963, in Göttingen. Frank began his musical career after a talent scout discovered him in 1985. He produced his debut single âAbschied von Fernandoâ at the Star-Studio in Hamburg and followed it with the release of âIm Hafen von Piräusâ. He released the first album Santa Barbara in 1990. Frank switched to Hansa Records in 1991, followed by contracts with DA Music in 1992 and ZYX Music in 1999. He released the singles âLiza Mariaâ (1990), âCiao, bella italiaâ (1994), âSamstag Nachtâ (1995), âWeit, weit von hierâ (1995), and âItalienische Sehnsuchtâ (1996). Frank appeared on the ZDF-Hitparade in October 1996. In 2005, the track âNichts als die Wahrheit (La verità )â reached number 93 on the Media Control charts. He collaborated with producer David Brandes in 2011 and released the singles âKreuzverhörâ (2011) and âIch hab dich geliebtâ (2012). The 2013 single âAlles nur Fassadeâ marked his return to songwriting. In 2014, he released the singles âBriefe von Sarahâ and âSommer in San Marinoâ. Frank released âDrama Queenâ in 2015, followed by âHerz gefundenâ and âDas passiert mir nie wiederâ in 2016. The album Herz oder gar nichts was issued in 2019 and accompanied by a promotional tour that began on September 6, 2019. Frank died on February 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
