Biography

Oliver Kruck, also known as Oliver Frank, was a German Schlager singer who was born on September 1, 1963, in Göttingen. Frank began his musical career after a talent scout discovered him in 1985. He produced his debut single “Abschied von Fernando” at the Star-Studio in Hamburg and followed it with the release of “Im Hafen von Piräus”. He released the first album Santa Barbara in 1990. Frank switched to Hansa Records in 1991, followed by contracts with DA Music in 1992 and ZYX Music in 1999. He released the singles “Liza Maria” (1990), “Ciao, bella italia” (1994), “Samstag Nacht” (1995), “Weit, weit von hier” (1995), and “Italienische Sehnsucht” (1996). Frank appeared on the ZDF-Hitparade in October 1996. In 2005, the track “Nichts als die Wahrheit (La verità)” reached number 93 on the Media Control charts. He collaborated with producer David Brandes in 2011 and released the singles “Kreuzverhör” (2011) and “Ich hab dich geliebt” (2012). The 2013 single “Alles nur Fassade” marked his return to songwriting. In 2014, he released the singles “Briefe von Sarah” and “Sommer in San Marino”. Frank released “Drama Queen” in 2015, followed by “Herz gefunden” and “Das passiert mir nie wieder” in 2016. The album Herz oder gar nichts was issued in 2019 and accompanied by a promotional tour that began on September 6, 2019. Frank died on February 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
