Mario Lehner, known professionally as Mario Jordan, was born on June 1, 1950, in Elkofen, Germany. He began his music career as a singer and was best known for his work with the band Zauberberg.
His initial steps into the music industry started in 1966 when he formed his first beat band, Three for Sale, with Hans Bialas and Mike Huber. Inspired by Beatles For Sale, this early venture laid the groundwork for his future musical endeavours. In 1971, he co-founded Zauberberg with Mike Huber, a band that would last for nearly four decades. During this period, notable figures like Konstantin Wecker briefly joined the group. In 1975, Mario Lehner released his self-titled debut album under Polydor. He also released several singles, including "Gib mir mehr davon" in 1975 and "Summerâs Here" in 1978. In 1978, he was the lead singer for the Rock Requiem in Munich. Under the pseudonym Mario Jordan, Lehner achieved significant chart success with the single "Welch ein Tag", which reached Number 7 on the German charts in 1992. This song also featured an English version titled "A lovely day" and was used in a Diebels beer advertisement. The same year, he released the album Welch ein Tag under BMG Ariola and received the Goldene Stimmgabel award. Mario Lehner passed away on February 3, 2010, due to sudden heart failure.
