Olav Stedje, born Olav Stedje on June 8, 1953, in Sogndal, Norway, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey as a solo singer with the local band Compact in the early 1970s, releasing two singles. His breakthrough came with the album Ta meg med in 1981, which earned him a Spellemannpris award in 1982. Stedje continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Stedje, Tredje Stedje, Rocken Bom, and NÃ¥r sola renn. In addition to his solo work, he participated in Melodi Grand Prix three times. Notable later releases include Livstegn (2006) and Det Lyser I Stille Grender (2015).
