Olâ Skool was a short-lived contemporary R&B vocal group formed in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1996. The five-piece was composed of vocalists Jason Little, Jerome "Pookie" Lane, Tony Herron, plus bassist Curtis Jefferson and drummer Bobby Crawford, who also provided vocals.âSet You Free,â their 1997 debut single, caught the attention of singer-songwriter Keith Sweat, who produced the bandâs 1998 eponymous debut aided by Organized Noise and Kevin âKJâ Johnson. Released via Universal Records, the album debuted at Number 49 on the US charts and featured the hit single âAm I Dreaming?â Despite their newfound success, their follow-up R.S.V.P. (2000) didnât fare as well on the charts and the group went on indefinite hiatus after its release.
