Biography

Ol’ Skool was a short-lived contemporary R&B vocal group formed in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1996. The five-piece was composed of vocalists Jason Little, Jerome "Pookie" Lane, Tony Herron, plus bassist Curtis Jefferson and drummer Bobby Crawford, who also provided vocals.“Set You Free,” their 1997 debut single, caught the attention of singer-songwriter Keith Sweat, who produced the band’s 1998 eponymous debut aided by Organized Noise and Kevin “KJ” Johnson. Released via Universal Records, the album debuted at Number 49 on the US charts and featured the hit single “Am I Dreaming?” Despite their newfound success, their follow-up R.S.V.P. (2000) didn’t fare as well on the charts and the group went on indefinite hiatus after its release.
