Biography
Nothgard was founded in 2008 in Deggendorf, Germany. The melodic death metal band released their first demo recording with three songs in 2009, which led to early performances across Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Their breakthrough came with the release of Warhorns of Midgard in April 2011 under Black Bards Entertainment, followed by a European tour. In 2014, Nothgard signed with Trollzorn Records for their second album, Age of Pandora, and embarked on tours across Spain and Europe. Their third album, The Sinner's Sake (2016), featured guest appearances from Jen Majura, Jeff Loomis, and Robert "Robse" Dahn, reaching number 74 in the German Album Charts. Nothgard's fourth album, Malady X, was released in October 2018 under Metal Blade Records, accompanied by a European tour with Omnium Gatherum and Wolfheart. The band is known for their epic melodic death metal style, combining intricate guitar work with orchestral elements.
