MÃ¥negarm is a Swedish metal band that was founded in Norrtälje in 1995. The group plays Viking, folk and black metal and combines traditional Nordic melodies with a raw metal sound. The band was founded by Svenne Rosendal, Jonas Almqvist and Pierre Wilhelmsson; MÃ¥rten Matsson and Erik Grawsiö joined early on. Currently, the core members are Erik Grawsiö (vocals, bass), Markus Andé (guitar) and Jacob Hallegren (drums). Early releases include the demos Vargaresa (1996) and Ur Nattvindar (1997). The first studio album Nordstjärnans tidsÃ¥lder was released in 1998, followed by Havets vargar (2000) and Dödsfärd (2003). With Vredens tid (2005) and Vargstenen (2007), the characteristic mix of folk instruments and harsh metal is established; Vargstenen reaches the charts in Sweden. Other albums include Nattväsen (2009), Legions of the North (2013), the self-titled MÃ¥negarm (2015), Fornaldarsagor (2019) and Ynglingaättens Ãde (2022). The better-known singles include "Genom världar nio" (2007) and "En snara av guld" (2022). The album Edsvuren will be released in 2025.
