Niall Horan gained fame as a member of the British boy band One Direction alongside Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, then launched a chart-topping solo career in 2017. He was born in Mullingar, Ireland, on September 13, 1993, and first teamed up with his One Direction bandmates on the television talent show The X Factor. The group enjoyed international success over the course of five hit albums. In 2016, Horan signed a recording contract as a solo artist and put out three singles. "Slow Hands" reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary Chart, "This Town" went to number 20 on the Hot 100 and 11 on the Adult Contemporary Chart, and "Too Much to Ask" peaked at number 66 on the Hot 100. All three singles appeared on his solo debut album, Flicker, which reached number 1 in the US and Number 3 in the UK. Horan returned in 2019 with the single "Nice to Meet Ya" before announcing a 2020 tour in support of his forthcoming album Heartbreak Weather, which arrived in March 2020. Reaching number 4 in the US and number 1 in the UK, Heartbreak Weather was followed in 2023 by The Show, which featured the International hit single "Heaven." The album debuted at number 1 in Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, and the UK, and reached number 2 on the German charts. It was followed by a deluxe edition titled The Show: The Encore featuring collaborations with Lizzy McAlpine and John Legend. Niall Horan returned to the road in 2024 with The Show: Live on Tour, his first headlining tour since 2018, and documented the run with The Show: Live From Madison Square Garden and the expanded live album The Show: Live On Tour. In 2025, he returned to The Voice for season 28, where Aiden Ross won as part of Team Niall, giving him a third victory in his first three seasons as a coach. He opened 2026 by joining Myles Smith on "Drive Safe", then launched his fourth solo album with "Dinner Party" and "Little More Time". Released in June 2026, Dinner Party marked his first studio album in three years and featured 12 songs centered on love, intimacy, memory and loss, including "End of an Era", which he reshaped as a tribute to Liam Payne.
