Biography
Neonschwarz is a German hip-hop group formed in 2012, originating from Hamburg. The band consists of Captain Gips and Johnny Mauser, who initially released the download album Neonschwarz in 2010 under their individual names. This album was later indexed by the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien due to controversial content. Following this, Neonschwarz was officially established and signed with Audiolith Records. Their debut EP, Unter'm Asphalt Der Strand, was released in 2012, followed by their first album, Fliegende Fische, in 2014. The band's second album, Metropolis, reached number 81 on the German Album Charts in 2016. Neonschwarz continued with the release of Clash in 2018 and their latest album, Morgengrauen, in early 2022. The group is known for their left-leaning lyrics and a blend of pop music elements with electronic beats.
