Biography

Naomi Chiaki, born on 17 September 1947 in Itabashi, Japan, entered the entertainment industry as both a singer and actress in the early 1970s. She debuted with the single "Ame Ni Nureta Bojou", released in 1969, which introduced her distinctive vocal style to the J‑pop scene. "X+Y=LOVE" was released on August 10, 1970; following the previous single "Yottsu no Onegai," it marked the artist's second consecutive entry into the Oricon Top 10. She followed up with the double single "Yakan Hikou" / "Ninenmae No Aki" on 25 June 1973, further cementing her presence on Japanese radio and television. After a brief hiatus from recording, Naomi Chiaki returned with the single "Akatonbo" on 5 October 1988, a track that demonstrated her enduring appeal and adaptability to contemporary pop trends. Throughout her career, she collaborated with other prominent Japanese musicians and appeared in several films and television dramas, leveraging her dual talents as a performer.
