Nakamura Hak, born in the Åta district of Tokyo, was a Japanese office worker turned singerâsongwriter whose moniker reflected a minimalist aesthetic; all of her recordings were captured in a single take without digital editing, showcasing her simultaneous vocal and acoustic guitar performance. In spring 2026, despite her thenâunknown status, she was chosen to perform the closing themes for the Witch Hat Atelier anime adaptation and the opening for the TV Tokyo drama Lunacy, propelling her into public awareness. That same month she signed with Avex Groupâs maximum10 imprint and released her debut EP Shiro wa Yume on 20â¯Mayâ¯2026, a physical CD that omitted digital distribution; the title track peaked at number eight on Billboard Japanâs Plantech radio chart for the week of 11â17â¯May. The limited edition offered a ticket to her inaugural free national tour, Unplugged (Outâstore) Live Tour â Itan. On 10â¯Juneâ¯2026, she issued her first single in physical format, "Tada Utsukushii Noroi" which three tracks that served as Witch Hat Atelier themes. Her distinctive âunpluggedâ approach attracted critical attention from outlets such as Music Natalie, with reviewers noting the raw human presence captured in her performances.
