Mulo Francel, born September 21, 1967, in Munich, Germany, is a saxophonist and film composer known for his work in jazz, classical, and world music. He began playing guitar to his father's jazz records before switching to saxophone at 16. Mulo Francel formed the group Mind Games with Lisa Wahlandt in 1987, achieving chart success in Singapore with Mind Games Plays the Music of Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto. In 1996, he became a key member of Quadro Nuevo, winning multiple German Jazz Awards and European Impala Prizes. Mulo Francel has released solo albums such as The Sax & the Sea (2014) and Myth (2019), and collaborated with various artists including Evelyn Huber and Chris Gall. He received the Kulturpreis der Stadt Rosenheim and two Echo Jazz awards with Quadro Nuevo.
