Biography
Mr Day is a band formed by Eric Duperray, a musician from Lyon who has been involved in a number of musical projects since the 1990s. After meeting Patchworks founder Bruno Hovart, Mr Day formed in 2007 with two other jazz musicians, organist Raphaël Chambouvet and drummer Remy Kapriélian. Influenced by the aesthetics of the mod scene, the sound of sixties soul and early rock'n'roll, the band released their debut album Small Free on May 10, 2010. Joined by guitarist and founder of The Buttshakersn, Julien Masson, Mr Day evolves towards a less revivalist sound. The second opus, Dry Up In The Sun, was recorded without any digital equipment. It was released on April 17, 2012 by Favorite Recordings, a label run by Eric Duperray's long-time friend Pascal Rioux.
