Moscow Art Trio is a Russian trio formed in 1990, comprising Arkady Shilkloper on French horn and flugelhorn, Misha Alperin on piano and vocals, and Sergey Starostin on vocals, clarinet, and folk reeds. Mikhail Alperin, the group's leader, also composed their music. Their album Hamburg Concert was released in 1996. The trio gained international recognition through their unique blend of classical jazz and traditional music, performing at festivals worldwide. Alperin's relocation to Oslo, Norway in 1993 further expanded the trioâs reach. The group continued to release albums such as Once Upon A Time (2001), Instead Of Making Children (2006), and Village Variations (2008). Mikhail Alperin passed away in May 2018.
