Biography

Margie Adam, born in 1947 in Lompoc, California, was an American musician and composer. Her parents introduced her to music, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1971, and began performing at the Sacramento Women’s Music Festival in 1973. She released the album, Songwriter (1976), followed by Naked Keys: Solo Piano Performances (1980), We Shall Go Forth! (1982), Here is a Love Song (1982), and Avalon (2001). Her 1977 performance of "We Shall Go Forth" at the National Women’s Conference in Houston became a lesbian anthem and was archived by the Smithsonian. In 1997, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Women’s Music Festival.
