Biography

Mors Syphilitica was an American gothic rock and ethereal band formed in 1995 in New York City by Lisa Hammer and Eric Hammer following the dissolution of their previous band, Requiem in White. Their debut release was a self-titled 12" single featuring "Whispers in the House of Truth" backed with a cover of "The Damned Don't Cry" by Visage, released on Sacrum Torch. The band's unique sound, characterized by Lisa Hammer's operatic vocals and Eric Hammer's multi-instrumentalism, was showcased across three full-length albums: Mors Syphilitica (1996), Primrose (1998), and Feather and Fate (2001).
