Moonlight Social is an American pop rock duo composed of singer-songwriters Jeremy Burchard and Jennica Scott. Officially formed on January 14, 2011, the duo met as members of the University of Texas Longhorn Marching Band in September 2009 and began collaborating in February 2010. Their debut self-titled EP was released later that year. In July 2012, Moonlight Social released their first full-length album Heading South, which received critical acclaim from regional press. The duo's single "Rub A Little Dirt On It" (2015) won the 2015 SongDoor International Songwriting Contest country category and was recognized by Nashville-based outlets. In June 2016, Moonlight Social moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Their EP Make You Smile (April 2018) debuted at number 49 on Country Album Sales and number 2 on Heatseekers â South Central. The duo released their second album, The Carrot, on October 9, 2020.
