Biography
Monica Queen is a Scottish singer from Glasgow. She achieved professional recognition in the 1990s as the co-founder of the indie rock ensemble Thrum, which signed with Fire Records. The group released several recordings between 1990 and 1997 before becoming inactive. Queen returned to the music industry in 2002 to collaborate with Stuart Murdoch of Belle & Sebastian after previously appearing on the track âLazy Line Painter Janeâ (1997). Her recording career includes the debut solo studio album Ten Sorrowful Mysteries (2002) and the studio recording Return of the Sacred Heart (2005). She has collaborated with artists including Chris Coco, James Grant, and Jim White, and contributed to the compilation Chamber Music (2008). In 2010, she performed the track âSet the Fire to the Third Barâ with the band Snow Patrol in Glasgow.
