Molly Bee, born Mollie Gene Beachboard on August 18, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was an American country music singer and guitarist. She moved to Los Angeles in 1950 and became a regular on Hometown Jamboree. At 13, she signed with Capitol Records and released her first hit single "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in 1952. Molly Bee appeared as Pinky Lee's sidekick on The Pinky Lee Show and joined Tennessee Ernie Ford in a daytime variety show from 1955 to 1957. She released her debut album, Young Romance, in 1958. Throughout the 1960s, she was a regular headliner at major Las Vegas showrooms and toured with Bob Hope's USO troupe. Molly Bee struggled with drug abuse but made a comeback in the 1970s with albums Good Golly Ms. Molly (1975) and Sounds Fine to Me (1982). She died on February 7, 2009, from complications following a stroke.
