Hailing from Minsk, Belarus, Molchat Doma formed in 2017 with Roman Komogorstev (guitar, keyboards, drum machines), Egor Shkutko (vocals) and Artemyi Bezlikiy (bass), replaced by Pavel Kozlov (bass, synthesizers). Taking up in their own way a style in vogue in the early 1980s, the band whose name literally means "the houses are silent" moves between post-punk revival, synthpop and darkwave. In 2017, through an independent German label, they released their first self-produced album С кÑÑÑ Ð½Ð°ÑиÑ
домов (From the Roofs of Our Houses), followed the same year by ÐÑажи (Soils), featuring the viral track "СÑдно (ÐоÑÐ¸Ñ Ð Ñжий)" ("Ship (Red Boris)"), whose video is a hit on social networks. The band, which was then gaining in popularity around the world, signed with the independent American label Sacred Bones Records in 2020 and, after the Covid-19 pandemic prevented them from touring the United States, recorded their third album ÐонÑÐ¼ÐµÐ½Ñ (Monument). Based in Los Angeles, he performs at the Coachella Festival in 2022, then at the Cruel World Festival in 2023, before returning to the studios to record ÐÐµÐ»Ð°Ñ ÐолоÑа (White Stripe).
