Biography

Automatic is a rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2017. The group consists of Izzy Glaudini on synths and vocals, Halle Saxon on bass and vocals, and Lola Dompé on drums and vocals. The three members met while immersed in L.A.'s DIY music scene and started playing live in 2017, taking their name from the track "Automatic" from the Go-Go's album Beauty and the Beat. They signed to Los Angeles label Stones Throw in June 2019. Automatic released their debut EP Automatic on January 29, 2018. The band announced their first studio album Signal with the release of their single "Calling It" on June 3, 2019. Signal, released on September 27, 2019, was described by Pitchfork as "an exercise in post-punk and no-wave galvanism." The band followed up with Excess on June 24, 2022, preceded by the singles "New Beginning" and "Venus Hour". Their third studio album, Is It Now?, was released on September 26, 2025.
