Biography

Mio Takagi (born December 31, 1959 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a Japanese actress and singer who made her record debut in 1981, singing the song "Koi no Onna no Story", an insert song for a movie. The following year, on July 21, 1982, she released her third single , "Dance ha Nani ni Tsuite Odorinai" (Dance Can't Dance Well). This song, for which Yosui Inoue wrote the lyrics, was used as the theme song for a TV drama and became her signature song, selling over 310,000 copies. Album information was also very spectacular, and her first album "Nada" released in the same year was a mega hit, selling over 400,000 copies. After that, she continued to energetically release original albums such as"Non-lost Flower,""new-tant," and "Pi-kaa-boo," and continued to captivate with her expressive singing voice. After a period of temporary inactivity, she resumed her musical activities and in 2019 released her first original album in 33 years, "Yakusoku e no Yakusoku" ("Promise to Tomorrow").
