Biography

Japanese singer, guitarist, and actor Goro Noguchi was born on February 23, 1956, in the city of Mino. He made his official debut as a singer in 1971 and scored his first hit a year later with the single "Aoi Ringo," earning the chance to perform live at the New Year Eve's TV special NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. In 1974, he reached the top of the Japanese charts for the first time with the single "Amai Seikatsu." Follow-up single "Shitetsu Ensen," did just as well, reaching Number 1 on the Oricon charts upon its release in 1975. During this time, Goro Noguchi made his first foray into acting in Koichi Sato's 1975 film Reunion. Throughout the subsequent decades, he continued to deliver an impressive string of successful singles that cemented his reputation as one of the most beloved personalities in Japanese music. In 2021, Goro Noguchi celebrated the 50th anniversary of his professional debut with a special show at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall. During that concert, fellow singer Hiromi Iwasaki announced the release of their first collaborative single "I Couldn't Say I Liked It." "Eternal Voices," their second joint single, appeared in 2022 and peaked at Number 34 on the Billboard Japan Albums Chart.
