Minimum Chips were an Australian electronic and rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 1993. The group consisted of Julian Patterson on guitars, drums, keyboard, and electric piano; Nicole Thibault on vocals, organ, synthesiser, and trombone; and Ian Wadley on drums, guitar, trumpet, and synthesiser. Their first release was a split 7-inch EP in September 1995, followed by the EPs Blip (1996) and Swish (1997), which featured their signature song "Furniture". In 1998, Guy Blackman joined on bass guitar. The band relocated to Melbourne in the late 1990s and signed to Trifekta Records, releasing the EP Freckles in 1999. Their debut studio album, Kitchen Tea Thankyou, was issued in 2005 via Trifekta. The band disbanded in early 2007 but briefly reunited in November 2012 to celebrate Chapter Music's 20th anniversary.
