Miniature Tigers, an American indie pop band based in Brooklyn, was formed in 2006 when Charlie Brand and Rick Schaier connected over Myspace. The band, which also includes Algernon Quashie on guitar and Brandon Lee on bass guitar, released their first EP, Miniature Tigers, in October 2005. Their breakthrough came with the release of Tell It to the Volcano in September 2008, following a national tour that included a set at the 2008 CMJ Music Marathon. Miniature Tigers toured extensively, supporting acts like Ben Folds and Fun, and played notable festivals such as the Monolith Festival in 2009. The band's discography includes albums like Mia Pharaoh (March 6, 2012) and Cruel Runnings (June 17, 2014), which featured cover art inspired by Memphis Group. They can be heard on the soundtrack of the 2015 romantic comedy Sleeping with Other People.
