The Party is an American pop band formed in 1990, comprising Albert Fields, Tiffini Hale, Chase Hampton, Deedee Magno Hall, and Damon Pampolina. The group originated from The All New Mickey Mouse Club and was created as part of a Disney Channel initiative to form a pop band. A name-the-band contest resulted in "The Party," which stood for "Positive Attitude Reflects Today's Youth." Their debut self-titled album, was released in August 1990 on Hollywood Records, featuring the single "Summer Vacation" which peaked at number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's cover of Dokkenâs "In My Dreams" from their EP In the Meantime, in Between Time, released in 1991, became their biggest hit, peaking at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their second studio album, Free, was released in 1992 and featured collaborations with Teddy Riley and Dr. Dre. The group disbanded in 1993 following the release of The Party's Over...Thanks for Coming. In 2013, the group reunited without Hale and began working on new material, releasing "Salute to Summer" in July. The Party was inducted into the New England Music Hall Of Fame during 90s Con on September 16, 2024.
