Michelle McAdorey, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for her work in folk rock and rock music. In the early 1980s, while living in the United Kingdom, McAdorey began her musical career as a backup singer for Kirsty MacColl on the 1981 record Desperate Character. She then joined the new wave band Cold Fish, which was later renamed Corect Spelling by CBS Canada. After returning to Toronto, McAdorey collaborated with Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo and formed the band Crash Vegas in 1990. The group released three albums: Red Earth (1990), Stone (1993), and Aurora (1995). Following the band's disbandment in 1996, McAdorey released her solo debut album Whirl in 2000. Her latest solo album, Into Her Future, was released on October 30, 2015, via DWR, and was longlisted for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize.
