Biography
Mendeed was a Scottish metalcore ensemble formed in 2000 in Dumbarton. The group released its debut EP, Killing Something Beautiful, in 2002, followed by the recording As We Rise in 2003. After signing with Rising Records, the band released the EP From Shadows Came Darkness (2004). The ensemble supported musicians including Slipknot, DragonForce, and Anthrax. The groupâs video for the track âIgnite the Flamesâ was broadcast on MTV2 and Scuzz TV. In 2005, Mendeed released its debut studio recording, This War Will Last Forever. The ensemble received a Gold Disc at the 2006 Kerrang Awards for its cover of the track âThe Thing That Should Not Beâ. The band released the album The Dead Live By Love in February 2007, which reached number 4 on the British Rock charts. The ensemble became inactive on September 4, 2007. A compilation recording, Shadows, War, Love: The Best of Mendeed, appeared in 2008.
